The recent Women In The Black” Who’s The Boss – Women’s Business Conference” was a game-changer for African American women entrepreneurs. Held under the theme “Elevation,” this event curated by President Princess Jenkins and her amazing team was a powerhouse of empowerment and practical insights.
Kicking off with a spirited Power Breakfast featuring Gwen DeVoe and Elaine Perry, the conference immediately delved into crucial discussions on leadership and navigating the entrepreneurial landscape. Keynote speaker Yusef Salaam captivated the audience with his impassioned address, urging attendees to seize their power and overcome challenges with resilience.
Throughout the day, workshop sessions served as vital hubs of learning and growth. From practical tips on “Social Media Sales Hacks & Apps” by Rosebud to deep dives into “Financial Empowerment” with experts like Edward Jones and Kenneth Gwee, attendees gained actionable strategies to propel their businesses forward.
The networking lunch was a vibrant affair, fostering connections among attendees, sponsors, and vendors alike. Conversations ranged from funding strategies to leadership development, each exchange adding layers of insight and opportunity.
Sessions led by LaToya Finney on “Lead Like a Lady” and Renee Plummer-Brown on “Mindset Mastery” underscored the importance of resilience and confidence in leadership roles.
