HERBS ARE NATURE’S REMEDY LITHOTRIPTIC HERBS, cont’d Saw Palmetto Berries By Zakiyyah

Benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) is the non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate that strikes at least half of all men 50 years old and as many as 90% of men over 70 years old. The condition makes urination difficult, perhaps painful, and leaves a man unable to empty his bladder thoroughly, resulting in frequent visits to the bathroom, especially at night.

Saw palmetto extracts help heal benign prostate enlargement and prostatitis, and often exceeds the effectiveness of commonly prescribed drugs for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).

The whole berries have a gentler effect than extracts, and make a gentle diuretic tea that flushes out infectious bacteria in cases of prostate infection.

REMEDY: using crushed berries, take 1 teaspoon to 1 cup of boiling water and simmer for 10 minutes. Drink warm.

Saw palmetto berries are expectorant, mildly sedative, and soothing to mucus membranes. Combined with other herbs saw palmetto is used in cough and cold remedies, and to ease breathing in asthma and bronchitis. The herb is also used to treat urinary disorders.
